Artist's Statement
My body of work explores memory, time, automatism, symbolism, hidden mechanics, and the inner workings of the visionary mind and spirit through an intricate examination of abstract, highly complex, technical collages that merge graphic, geometric, and rhythmic elements with the themes of patience, timelessness, and gravity.
Each of these surreal artworks has its own universe of intricate logic all to their own. This is due to the fact that everything created starts with a slow and strict set of minimalist guidelines that I will adhere to while navigating the piece and will build and expand off of the creative momentum and free-flowing of ideas. I investigate all the abstract laws, space, procedures, and rhythms of these initial conditions through intense repetition, utilizing them as a basis for exploring the duality of my subconscious and consciousness. This could seem like a meditative state to an outsider, being a vessel cobbling psychological landscapes together in the hidden tectonics of time.
My method of creating work is raw, organic, and exploratory, being self-taught and completely outside of any formal training and institutional dialogue. It continually reveals new visual language, styles, and information as it progresses and allows me to learn from and expand on.
Silent film, pantomime comics, minimalism, maximalism, kinetic art, fantasy, science fiction, literature, biology, geometry, sound design, automatism, pareidolia, noir esthetic, and the observation and analysis of recurring patterns in the natural world and in daily life are just a few of the myriad of influences I draw inspiration from.
